On Sunday, May 5, 2013, the Concord Monitor published an article entitled Pregnancy Discrimination A Real Threat for Some Workers,  about the continuing problem of pregnancy discrimination in employment.  Upton and Hatfield Partner Lauren S. Irwin was interviewed for the article by Concord Monitor reporter Jeremy Blackman on the issue of Pregnancy Discrimination litigation.

The article highlighted one of the pregnancy discrimination cases currently pending in federal court in which the plaintiff is represented by Upton & Hatfield attorneys Lauren Irwin and Heather Burns.  Attorney Irwin said that the issue of pregnancy discrimination is not disappearing and that “It’s not just a women’s issue, it’s a family issue.”    The article also described a 2010 pregnancy and gender discrimination case that Attorneys Irwin and Burns litigated that resulted in a large jury verdict for their client.*

Attorneys Irwin and Burns are members of Upton & Hatfield’s Employment Law Group and represent employees in discrimination litigation.  Attorney Irwin is also the Chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Gender Equality Committee.
