Dan A. Jimenez
About
Dan A. Jiménez focuses on representing municipalities and handling a wide range of general litigation matters. Dan has over 13 years of litigation experience, including handling complex matters in conjunction with parallel administrative proceedings.
Prior to joining Upton & Hatfield, Dan spent over five years with the New Hampshire Department of Justice where he served as a Senior Assistant Attorney General and Chief of the Public Integrity Unit. In these roles he investigated and prosecuted state officials and law enforcement officers as well as handled a number of complex white collar fraud cases. These matters often involved high-profile and contentious litigation from start to finish. Once the case was over, Dan handled RSA 91-A requests from both the media and the public. In addition, Dan facilitated ongoing coordination and communication among prosecutors’ offices and police departments around the state, as well as the Police Standards and Training Council (PSTC) Conduct Review Committee, and the New Hampshire Department of Justice.
In addition to his litigation experience, Dan oversaw and maintained the Exculpatory Evidence Schedule (formerly the Laurie List), taught at PSTC’s police academy, tracked and kept abreast of legislative updates, and represented the Department of Justice before legislative committees. Prior to coming to New Hampshire, Dan was an Assistant Attorney General at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, where he investigated and litigated insurance fraud and complex white collar fraud matters, as well as a supervisory prosecutor at a district attorney's office. Dan has litigated matters in the New Hampshire Superior and District Courts, the Massachusetts Superior and District Courts, and the Massachusetts Appeals Court. He has tried over 45 jury trials in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Dan continues to volunteer as a commissioner on the New Hampshire Department of Justice’s Victims’ Compensation Commission.
Dan lives in Bedford with his wife and two children. He enjoys cooking, going to the beach in the summer, and traveling back to the Dominican Republic to visit his extended family.
Dan is licensed in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
