Margaret Demos
About
Margaret A. Demos is an attorney with Upton & Hatfield, LLP and became part of the firm in 2025 when Martin, Lord & Osman, P.A. joined Upton & Hatfield. She counsels individuals and families on estate planning, trusts and estates, probate administration, tax matters, and real estate, combining technical insight with a practical, client-first approach.
Margaret earned her B.A. from Vassar College and an M.A. in American Studies from Columbia University. She received her J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law and her LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. She is admitted to practice before all New Hampshire state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire, and the U.S. Tax Court. Margaret is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, the Belknap County Bar Association, and the New Hampshire Estate Planning Council.
Deeply engaged in her community, Margaret has served on the boards of the Belknap Mill Society, the Sandwich Children’s Center, and Hands Across the Table, a local nonprofit that provides free hot meals to neighbors in need.
Margaret meets clients in person or via Zoom through Upton & Hatfield’s expanded footprint, including Laconia and Lancaster.
