David Osman
About
David S. Osman is a mediator and arbitrator with Upton & Hatfield, LLP, focusing his practice on helping parties resolve disputes through alternative dispute resolution (ADR). He joined Upton & Hatfield in 2025 through the acquisition of Martin, Lord & Osman, P.A., after more than five decades practicing civil trial law in New Hampshire. Today, David assists individuals, businesses, and organizations in reaching efficient and durable resolutions outside the courtroom.
Raised in Dover, New Hampshire, David graduated from Berwick Academy, earned a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law. He has practiced in New Hampshire since 1972, bringing seasoned judgment and a steady, even-handed approach to conflict resolution.
David has served his community as a Trustee of the Winnipesaukee Playhouse and Temple B’nai Israel of Laconia, and as a member of the Gilmanton Zoning Board of Adjustment, the City of Laconia Committee on Human Relations, and the New Hampshire Conflict Resolution Association.
Outside his ADR work, David enjoys downhill skiing, snowshoeing, bicycling, golf, gardening, grilling pizza, and—most of all—cheering on his grandchildren. He and his wife, Fredda Chertok Osman, have been married for 50 years and are proud parents and grandparents.
David meets clients in person or via Zoom through Upton & Hatfield’s statewide offices, including Laconia and Lancaster.
