Michael McGrath

Mike began practicing law in Massachusetts in 1996. In 1997 he moved to New Hampshire and joined a Manchester law firm. After eleven years developing a practice in Manchester, Mike joined Upton & Hatfield in 2008.

Mike is a Past President and long time board member of the New Hampshire Association for Justice, f/k/a NH Trial Lawyers Association. Mike is also a member of the New Hampshire Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.

Mike has been a speaker at a number of Continuing Legal Education programs for attorneys on a number of topics including effective discovery in civil litigation, and developments in New Hampshire family law. He is the author of “The Automobile Injury Case for Paralegals in New Hampshire,” published by the Institute for Paralegal Education NBI, Inc. (2000), and “Child Support Liens,” published by New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association (2005 & 2010).

  • Boisvert v. Sears, Roebuck & Co

    Gender discrimination under Title VII, U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire. 

  • Erich Leblanc v. State of New Hampshire

    Successfully reversed a denial of coverage for client before the New Hampshire Supreme Court. 

  • Bruce Harris v. Carl B. Thomas Construction

    Personal injury and products liability case. Client suffered severe knee injury while using ladder. Achieved six-figure settlement for client.
