Jeanne S. Saffan

Jeanne advises individuals, families, organizations, business owners, and fiduciaries on a diversity of legal matters unique to each client’s situation. Jeanne’s practice includes planning for end of life and disability, including the preparation of wills, advance directives and powers of appointment. Jeanne also counsels clients on the benefits of revocable living trusts for wealth management and probate avoidance. Jeanne provides sophisticated planning for business owners interested in creating succession plans that transfer assets to future generations, and individuals interested in the preservation and management of family properties.

Jeanne guides executors with the administration of estates through the probate courts, and advises both executors and trustees on their fiduciary responsibilities in connection with the division, distribution, and reporting of estate and trust assets. Jeanne also regularly advises beneficiaries of estates and trusts about their rights, and the process of estate and trust administration.

Jeanne is experienced with all stages of the business life cycle. Jeanne assists entrepreneurs with choice of entity issues and business formations, and provides guidance on governance and management matters. Jeanne prepares and reviews executive and physician employment agreements, buy-sell agreements, and conducts asset, stock and membership interest purchases and sales. Jeanne’s advises clients on employment matters, and is a professionally trained workplace investigator in the resolution of employee/employer disputes for both private and public employers.

Jeanne graduated Cum Laude from Suffolk University Law School in 2003 after having a successful career in the semiconductor industry. Jeanne in licensed to practice in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New York. Jeanne is a member of the New Hampshire Estate Planning Council, former chair of the Elder Law, Estate Planning Practice Section of the New Hampshire Bar Association, a member of the Probate and Property Section of the American Bar Association, and the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association. Jeanne is also a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators and the Society of Human Resource Managers.

Jeanne resides in Bedford, NH, and has one grown daughter, Jessica. When she is not working, Jeanne enjoys skiing, playing music, and working on challenging crossword puzzles.
